Christmas is fast approaching, we're all manically running around like headless chickens, trying to get the last minute shop out of the way, the weather is getting hotter and our wallets are getting lighter; so I mean, it's not unforgivable that most of us will be slacking when it comes to maintaining our daily skincare routines
As Beauty4All will be closing for 2 weeks during this period. I thought it'd be cool to share with you some super easy home made face masks that will suit your skin type and won't dent your finances.
Below you will find a few different kinds of home face masks that are quick and easy to use, as well as being perfect for the hot, sticky weather!
DRY SKIN FACE PACKS
Avocado Face Mask
What is needed?
- 1 Ripe Avocado
- Honey &/Or Plain Yogurt
1. Scoop out a ripe avocado and mash until it's nice and smooth.
2. If desired, combine with one tbsp of honey and/or plain yogurt. Mix ingredients together well.
3. Smooth over face and allow it to absorb into the skin for 10-15 mins before rinsing thoroughly.
4. Lightly pat face dry.
Apply at least once a week.
Benefits
Besides being really refreshing, avocado is extremely nourishing and nutritious for dry skin as it's full of healthy fats which will allow the skin cells to regenerate. The honey within the mask will also diminish the flakiness of the skin, leaving the skin feeling subtle and smooth.
Brightening Yogurt & Strawberry Face Mask
What is needed?
- 2 very ripe strawberries
- 1 tsp of raw honey
- 1 tsp of plain yogurt
1. Mash strawberries and mix together with the yogurt and honey, until you have a relatively smooth paste.
2. Apply an even layer over the face.
3. Relax and allow to dry for at least 15-20 mins.
4. Remove with tepid water and pat face dry.
Apply weekly.
And, if you're feeling adventurous; why not try 1 tsp Olive Oil, 1 tsp of Yogurt and 1/4 Avocado for a moisturizing and hydrating facial mask?
OILY SKIN FACE PACKS
Orange & Oats Face Mask
What is needed?
- 2 tsp fresh orange juice
- 1 tsp honey
- 3 tsp oats
- 1 tsp egg whites
1. Using the ingredients above, add all into a bowl and beat together until a relatively smooth paste begins to form.
2. Apply an even layer across the skins surface
3. Using light circular motions, rinse off with tepid water - the circular motions will act as a mild scrub - bonus!
Tomato Juice Face Mask
What is needed?
- 1/4 Fresh Tomato Juice
- 3 Tsp Rice Flour
- Tsp Honey
- Once you've gathered all the ingredients, mix all together so they are all blended well.
- Once mixed, apply evenly over the face and allow to absorb for 10-15 minutes.
- Make sure this is rinsed off thoroughly.
Apply once every fortnightly.
The Tomato smell is a love/hate thing but it is very beneficial for those with an oily skin texture,
the acidity draws out the oil from the skin surface and helps to dry it out, the honey is an extra that will neutralize the scents and leave the skin feeling smooth and refreshed.
COMBINATION SKIN FACE PACKS

What is needed?
- 1 tbsp of honey
- 1 tbsp of yogurt
- 2 tsp of rose water
- Mix all ingredients together, until it has a silky smooth consistency.
- Apply liberally to skin and allow to work for 10-15 mins.
- Rinse well with tepid water

Benefits
Honey and yogurt have a cooling effect on skin. They will also help to combat dryness and provide moisture to your skin. Rose water will control oilyness, whilst giving skin that added freshness. Which is much needed with this warm summer weather!
Oats & Almonds Face Mask
What is needed?
- 8-12 almonds that have been soaked in water overnight.
- 1 tbsp of oats
- 1 tbsp of honey
- Once almonds have softened overnight, grind into a paste like consistency.
- Mix this in with the oats and honey long enough for all ingredients to blend well together.
- Apply all over face and allow to absorb for 10-20 mins.

Benefits
Whilst being very mild, oats will help to scrub off any excess oil the T-zone may be holding onto. The almonds will add nourishment back into the dry areas of the skin and the honey will help to add a nice, subtle feel to the skin.
